Finish the Mission

I just finished reading the book Finish the Mission, a collaborative effort headed up by John Piper. It is a great challenge to the church in North America to embrace our role in the completion of the Great Commission. To me, some highlights of this book are:
  •  Louie Giglio's chapter, which takes a deeper look at the God, who in Isaiah 6 asks, "Whom shall I send?" and what our response should be.
  •  David Platt's chapter, which adds another voice to the debate on whether unreached peoples really need to hear the Gospel.
  •  Michael Ramsden's chapter on the role suffering, or the willingness to suffer plays in advancing the Gospel.
  •  Ed Stetzer's look at how the commissions Jesus gave should impact how we live our lives, whether we are in our own neighborhoods or among the nations.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering getting more involved in missions, living on mission, or just desiring a better knowledge of the Biblical basis for missions.
